Creating and Using Scanlines

1. Choose an image to use.

2. Select New to create a new image. Make it 3 pixels by 3 pixels with a transparent background.

3. For Photoshop choose the pencil tool and draw a line from one corner to the opposite corner.

4. In Photoshop, go to Edit-> Define Pattern, then name and save the pattern.

5. Go back to the image you want to put the scanlines on. In the layer pallete, click the little style button at the bottom and choose Pattern Overlay.

6. Select the pattern you made from the choices. Change the blend mode and opacity until you get something you like.

7. Save your finished image.
