Installing Fonts in Windows

Sick of your old boring default fonts that come with your computer? Well, download some new cool ones! Here's where you will learn how to install them.

The first thing you need to do is find some fonts that you like and download them. NeoLodge,com recommends Da Font for a great selection.

Once you find a font you like click the download button. You should get a popup window like this one.



Choose Save To Disk and click OK.

Downloading to your desktop ensures you can find the file easily to install and then delete.

To install the font you need to

Unzip the font
Open the Font Folder
Drag the file into the Font Folder

To Unzip the font, you need to double click on the zip file. A window will pop up. In this window, you want to press Extract. Another window will pop up. In that window you want to select Extract once again. Here you can see both windows:



Now, the font should be extracted and located wherever you extracted it to on your computer Once again, extract to the desktop provides easiest access. The next step is opening the Fonts Folder.

Click the start button and select Settings then Control Panel. Right click on Control Panel and choose explore. NOTE:Control Panel will not be under settings, but will just be in the main menu.

In Windows XP,
Next, find the Fonts Folder in the Control Panel window that should have popped up. Finally, you want to drag the font file into the Font Folder. When you do so, it should install automatically.



Now you can install as many fonts as you like.
