The second installment of the Journey to the Lost Isle adventure brings participants face to face with the Ravenous Monster. Pay a visit to the Healing Springs then head to the one player section of the Battledome to face this gentle opponent.

The Ravenous Monster starts with a difficulty of only 15. This makes it easy for even the most inexperienced pet to defeat him at least once. Pets with HP as low as 11 can take down the R.M. with the free and cheap items found all over Neopia. Experimenting with a level 1 pet, fierce attack and these items I was able to defeat the monster in just a few rounds. The items used included Kalora Battlecard, Wet Snowball, Cheap Water Ring, Altadorian Initiate Sword and Basic Dryer.

Pets with higher HP will want to continue battling the Ravenous Monster until his HP rise so much they can no longer win, or you simply become bored with it. Playing with my level 3 pet, I was able to easily defeat him even when his HP increased substantially past mine with just a few basic items and faerie abilities. For round 1 using the Earth Faerie ability Burrow, with a Scarab Ring and 17lb Trout, I sustained only 1 HP damage while inflicting 30 or more.

The remaining rounds I used the same items and a fierce attack. Keeping a Blue Scorchstone equipped also gave me extra insurance though I only used it a few times. Other weapons I tried and was successful with included Halo of Devilpuss, Snowglobe Staff, Curved Golden Staff, Thumburt's Cane, and The Astronomy Club. After 77 battles and more than 6,600 points I grew too bored with it to continue, though it appears I could carry on successfully for at least another 30 battles.

The Neopet's Team has once again disabled the use of Sticky Hands for the duration of the plot. If you are experiencing lag in the Battledome try using your back button rather than going through all the "YOU WON!" pages.
