Use your catapults to fight off the Snow Beasts and Lupes that are trying to destroy your snowmen.

Snow Wars II is a game involving strategy and action, quick hands and quick thinking. Lupes and Snow Beasts are on the hunt for snowmen, and it's up to you to protect them! Build snow-block fortresses around as many of your snowmen as possible, and then strategically place your catapults in a way that best defends your fortresses. Once your catapults are in place, set your Grundos to work on blasting the opponent's catapults and knocking out the advancing Lupes and Snow Beasts before they can reach your snow fortresses and destroy your snowmen!

The Battlefield

On your side of the battlefield are several (about 4) snowmen placed in random order on top of an invisible grid. Your territory takes up most of the left side of the game screen. The charging Lupes and Snow Beasts are located in a much smaller area on the right side and are eagerly charging toward your snowmen. An icy line separates these two important areas making it easy to tell them apart.

Enemies

You have two enemies to deal with: The Snow Beasts carry giant snow-flinging Catapults that can destroy a block of ice in one hit and they can move them around at will. However, they cannot cross the Icy Borderline. The Lupes

Defence

At the beginning of the game you will have a number of blocks of different shapes that you place around a snowman to box him in making a fortress. Using your mouse to control where you put the block, first change the orientation of the block by using the spacebar to make it fit properly. You must make a box / fortress large enough with room for at least two Grundo catapults inside the fortress. You are not allowed to place blocks on the big icy borderline or on the enemy's territory. This can be extremely  annoying at times especially when the snowmen can be really close to the border. Once you’ve placed the Catapult wielding Grundos inside your fortress to defend the snowmen and the next stage begins, start clicking on the Lupes and Snow Beasts. The Grundo(s) will hurl Snowballs at the area you clicked, hopefully the same area an invading Lupe or Snow Beast with his catapult was standing in.

The game is made up of three stages.
  • Stage one: you must protect the snowmen on your field with blocks of ice.
  • Stage two: you must cleverly place your Grundo army inside your fortress.
  • Stage three: the Grundos fling snowballs at the invaders you click with your mouse.
Stage 1

The first time you set up Stage I, you have thirty seconds to surround your snowmen. In consecutive levels you will have fifteen seconds to do the job. But that's still fair, since on those times you already have ice blocks around your Snowmen and you’re just renewing what the catapults destroyed. The first stage can be difficult for beginners. Work as fast as you can. It doesn't matter how pretty or neat the formation of snow blocks are in, it just matters if you enclose your snowmen and leave room for the Grundo catapults. Try surrounding more than one snowman in your fortress. Move the mouse in a square around the Snowmen of your choice. While doing this, click the left mouse button as fast as you can. Be sure to make the square big! If you do this, you won't even need to click the space bar. When you're done, fill in any gaps that you've missed. Pressing the space bar is helpful here and can save time.

But be careful. Sometimes the Snowmen are placed right next to the border, and since you can't put any blocks on the border, you could waste a lot of time trying to fit the blocks in perfectly between the snowman and the borderline. Ignore those Snowmen and aim at surrounding the ones in the center. The ones at the far left aren't exactly great places to surround your snowmen at the beginning of the  game, since the catapults have to be able to shoot at a farther distance after you place the Grundos there. It's better to surround them in the middle of war.

Stage II

You can only place the Grundos inside a fortress with your Snowmen. Place them as far to the right as possible so that the snowballs they throw will have to travel only a short distance. If you enclosed only one snowman in the first stage, then you may only place two catapults in that enclosed space (if there's room. If there's no room, then no Grundos and it’s game over.) If you enclosed two or more snowmen, then you may place 3 Grundos into the battle and then 4, 5, 6, and so on. The time limit for placing the catapults is pretty long, but sometimes when in the heat of battle, a couple of Lupes that you didn't hit on Stage I might walk along and smash a few Snowmen if you don't hurry up and place your Grundos. Either that or they'd get very close to your territory and smash your snowmen in later rounds. The more Grundos on the field, the more efficient, convenient, and easier it is for you to conquer the entire battlefield. If you have 4 Grundos on the first time you get to Stage III, you will find it extremely easy to wipe out all the Snow Beasts and charging Lupes with a few simple clicks of the mouse.

Stage III

If you were successful in placing the Grundos inside your fortress, you can now hurl snowballs at the  oncoming Lupes and Snow Beasts. Get the Snow Beasts before the Lupes since they damage your fortress with the snowballs. Click directly on the Snow Beast you're aiming for. Sometimes they move out of the way but constant movement of the Snowbeasts is somewhat rare. So after they move, simply click them again as fast as you can. After eliminating the enemy's catapults, eliminate the Lupes. Try clicking on the Lupes, but they'll most likely move forward after you click, so do your best to click on the space right in front of them.
