An all-out snowball war has broken out on Terror Mountain!
Pelt your opponents with snowballs as soon as they pop up from behind the wall.
Just don't hit any faeries with your throws!
This is the perfect game to play if you're in the mood for a snowball fight! Neopets, petpets, and faeries will pop up from behind a wall. It is your job to throw snowballs at the neopets and petpets, but avoid hitting the faeries! Shooting a faerie will cause you to lose ammunition. Use your mouse to aim and click the left mouse button to throw the snowballs.

|
When the game begins it's important to notice the bar on the left side of the screen. This bar shows score, level, and most importantly, ammunition.
Snowballs are the type of ammunition used in the game. The amount of snowballs remaining is shown on the sidebar. At the beginning of the game the sidebar will show five complete snowballs. Each complete snowball represents ten snowballs. These complete snowballs gradually decrease in size as snowballs are thrown. When ten snowballs are thrown a complete snowball disappears. For example, four complete snowballs will be shown when forty snowballs remain.
|
Throughout the game neopets, petpets, and faeries are shown randomly appearing from behind a brick wall. The neopets and petpets can be hit for points, but hitting a faerie will result in losing snowballs. There is no penalty for not hitting a neopet or petpet. A new level begins every time six neopets and petpets are hit.
The neopets that should be hit with a snowball are:
Hitting any of these neopets directly in the face is considered a bullseye and will give you 10 points. If you manage to hit any of them, but it's closer to the side of the Neopet you will earn only 5 points.
The meepit is the only petpet that can be hit.
If a snowball hits the meepit directly in the center you will receive 20 points. If a snowball hits the meepit but it is closer to the side you will be given 10 points.
The Phantom Orange Shirt Guy, Ollie, may also make an appearance during the game. If this happens hit him directly for a bullseye worth 50 points. Hitting him with a snowball indirectly and closer to the side is worth 25 points.
The faeries that appear from behind the wall are:

If either of these faeries is accidentally hit with a snowball you will lose ten snowballs.

Every so often a polarchuck with a parachute will float down towards the back of the screen. This is Dieter, and if he is hit with a snowball you will be given ten snowballs. The game ends when you run out of snowballs, so it's important to hit Dieter when you're running low! |
Hitting Dieter can be difficult, but with practice it will get easier. Some important things to remember when trying to shoot Dieter are:
- The higher Dieter is in the air, the farther above his parachute you need to shoot.
- If Dieter is lower in the air, shoot closer to his parachute.
- It's much easier to hit Dieter while he is higher in the air.
- As the level of the game increases Dieter falls faster.
- If you have forty snowballs or more Dieter will not appear.
This all may sound pretty easy, but there is one important factor that needs to be taken into account – the wind. Wind will affect your aim, because the snowballs will be slightly moved in the same direction that the wind is currently blowing. The wind can blow either left, right, or straight down.
Looking at the direction of the snowfall will determine which way the wind is blowing. Considering the wind is always an important thing to remember before throwing a snowball at a neopet, petpet, or Dieter.
Remember, the wind can always change. Pay careful attention to the direction of the snowfall all throughout the game.
- If the snow is falling left aim slightly towards the right of the target.
- If the snow is falling right aim slightly towards the left of the target.
- If the snow is falling straight down then just aim normally, because there is no wind to affect the throw.
Tips to Win
- The higher the level of the game the faster the neopets, petpets, and faeries appear.
- There is no time limit! Also, remember, there's no penalty for not hitting a neopet or petpet so technically this game can be kept open for hours without hitting anything. Keep this in mind and don't rush.
- If you have less than twenty snowballs try to hit Dieter, because if a faerie is accidentally hit twice then it will be game over.
- Don't waste too many snowballs on trying to hit Dieter. It will take some practice before being able to hit him with accuracy. It may be a good idea to spend some time just practicing hitting Dieter.
- Use only one snowball at a time when attempting to hit a neopet or petpet. Don't use multiple snowballs on the same character. It will only waste them.
- Keep an eye out for Ollie, he's worth quite a few points.
- Type snowghettiandmeatball anytime during the game for ten extra snowballs. This can only be used once per game.
- Most importantly, remember to pay attention to the wind and to aim accordingly.
Generally a score of 1,260 will be enough to obtain a trophy.
