After what has undoubtedly been a long wait, Neopets has finally unveiled the newest installment in the much beloved Neoquest series: Neoquest 3D! That’s right, the third adventure in the Neoquest family presents itself in full, stunning three dimensional glory.

But where exactly is it? A peak at the news or the games room will reveal nothing about this new and exciting quest. To find it, go to Meridell Castle, then  click on the Meridell banner located on the wall by Kayla's Potion Shop. Is the banner not clickable for you? Try changing your settings to HTML rather than Flash.

As a new window opens, you will behold the glory that is the Neopets 3D rendering system…but wait, where’s the 3d going?

Sorry to disappoint you, but there are, in fact, no 3D graphics in this game. Instead, Neoquest 3D is a text based, Choose Your Own Adventure style game, replete with neon green computer text and cheerful music reminiscent of the early gaming classics.

Much of the fun in these types of games is taking the time to explore every possibility and finding multiple routes to the finish. Below is one possible course, but there are many others to discover and enjoy.

Begin by reading the introduction. Simply follow the onscreen instructions to continue, making sure you’ve clicked inside the screen so that the appropriate window is selected.

Once you have read the next screen, press “N” to go North toward the Neohome, and press “Y” to enter.

After a short conversation with a very familiar Yurble,  press any key to get kicked out of the house and find a piece of yellow metal. Press any key again.

Head south back to the starting point, then go west to the dimly lit path through the forest. Once in the forest, go north, west, south, and west to find a glistening pool and a friendly water faerie.

Approach the water faerie to obtain a shiny piece of metal, then press “Y” to leave.

Head north back to the Neohome, then east to frolic in the field of flowers.

Once done frolicking, go east to the very large tree. Make an outrageous claim, and you will be rewarded with a piece of metal. Head back to the field.

Back at the field, go north on the rather uninteresting path, then east to the hill. Instead of climbing all the way, be lazy and walk around the hill to get a piece of metal - the front part of a key! Leave the area, then head west toward the pile of logs.

After finding the trapdoor, press Y to enter. Once you find the Light Faerie, release her, and then head north.

Once at the four way intersection, go east toward the Pit of Prolonged, Painful Demise. Examine its contents, and you now have the final piece of metal you need.

Now it is time to backtrack to the very beginning. To do this, go south, south again, and then west.

Once back at the original clearing, go south down the wide dirt path, then press N to continue to the lake.

Inside the lake is a treasure chest, but a key is needed to open it. Press Y to automatically piece the metal into a key, opening the treasure chest. Inside is a great reward…ten thousand neopoints!

Of course, nothing in Neopia ever comes that easily. When the Pant Devil leaves with the chest, you are left with between 400-500np.

Like most Neopets’ games, Neoquest 3D can be played up to 3 times each day. There are no trophies or high scores tables, however, nor is there currently an avatar.
