Oh no! A volcano is erupting, and some Tyrannian Neopets need your help in order to escape the lava and rocks that are raining down on them. Use your laser to blast the rocks, but be sure to match your laser to the rock type first. If a boulder should crash too near one of the Tyrannians, you'll both be in trouble!

In Magma Blaster, you play an Alien Aisha who has been given the task to save five unfortunate Tyrannian Neopets who happen to be right under a volcano during the eruption. Using the mouse, direct the crosshair on top of the rock and click or press the spacebar to blast and destroy it.

The game is divided into five levels and five bonus rounds. During each level, rocks fly out of the volcano and plummet toward the ground. On the first level, there are two different types of rocks to blast. Each new level introduces a new rock to the game. To blast different rocks, you have to switch your laser to match the rock. To do this, you press the number keys 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6.

On the bottom of the screen is a stone circle showing each of the rock types. Under the green glass is the current laser shape. The laser shape is also shown in the middle of the crosshair. If all five Neopets are hit with falling rocks, it's game over for you! However, if the rocks hit the ground rather than the Neopet, a life will not be lost. The Neopets won't carry over to the next level, once they're dead, they're dead.

Scoring
Each rock is worth either two or four points depending on how it is shot. If the rock is blasted while touching the crosshair it's worth two points. If the rock is blasted while touching the rock image inside of the crosshair, it's worth four points!

In each level there are a certain number of rocks needed to be blasted before moving on to the next level. A bonus round can be earned at the end of every level. To unlock the bonus round, all the rocks that you need to get to the next level must be blasted for four points. So make sure to pay attention to where you're hitting the rocks! In bonus rounds you have fifteen seconds to blast all the rocks you can. You cannot lose a life on the bonus round.

When a rock you need to blast is different than your current laser, press its number to change the laser to that shape.

Tips to Win

Use a small screen for faster movement.
When lots of rocks are falling, go for the ones about to hit a Neopet, not the ones likely to hit the ground.
Use the number keys above the letters, not the keypad.
There are two easy ways to have your fingers ready to hit the numbers. One way is to have your left hand fingers on 12345 and move your thumb for six. Alternatively, try having your left hand fingers on 23456 and move your pinky for 1.

There is no avatar for Magma Blaster, but a score of about 760 will get you a shiny new trophy for you userlookup!
