Gorix and Cylara have just jettisoned out the side of the Virtupets Space Station in an attempt to flee the evil Dr. Sloth. Unfortunately he has noticed their escape and sent his Virtupets Fighters to stop them! You must help our heroes defeat the fighters and escape... to Kreludor!

Kreludor may be far away, but with your help, Gorix and Cylara will be able to get there before Dr. Sloth can capture them. Your goal is to destroy all the ships that Dr. Sloth has sent after you. To do this, they must be thrown into rocks, hit by one of the escape pods torpedoes, thrown into each other, or thrown into debris.

Using the mouse, move the escape pod around the grid. Moving only one square at a time, your ship can move UP, DOWN, RIGHT, LEFT, and DIAGONAL. Take turns moving your ship with the opponent ships. The opponent ships move only one square at a time and may move in any of the same directions as you do. Each of the four corners of the gameboard hold a wormhole. When your ship lands on these spaces, it will be transported to another space on the board. This can help when a quick escape is needed, but use caution. Since the square you are sent to is random, you may end up right beside another enemy.

There are two different types of ships sent out to destroy your one lonely fighter. Fortunately,  the type that is most difficult to destroy only appears one at a time.

This ship is dumb. It simply follows your ship around the board. It is easy to destroy. It will even fly into wormholes and dissappear forever.
This ship is smarter. It will follow you around but avoid rocks, debris and other ships. It is more difficult to destroy and often you need to use torpedos to get rid of it. These ships do not appear until the third level.
In higher levels of the game a new opponent appears. The comet is indestructible. Try to aviod it as much as possible. The only good thing about the comet is that is will destroy and enemy ship that gets in it's way.

There are three different ways to destroy the enemy ships.

Torpedoes
Your ship comes with an unlimited supply of torpedoes. To use them simply click on your ship or tap the spacebar, and they will fire and destroy any enemy within three squares. Torpedoes only shoot straight out the sides of your ship, and fire in the direction of your sides. This means if you are moving at a diagonal and facing a corner, the torpedoes will fire at an angle to the other diagonal spaces. Once a torpedo hits an enemy, it will not go any further. Destroyed ships become debris that remains on the game board. Your ship can not move onto those squares. Any enemy ship that hits it will be destroyed. When a torpedo is fired your turn is over, you may not move your ship.

Rocks and Debris
Each level of the game starts with rocks on some squares. When an enemy is destroyed with a torpedo it leaves behind debris.
Your fighter can not move onto these squares. However, it is possible to trick the dumb ships into hitting them and being destroyed. By moving your ship in the direction of rocks or debris, the dumb ships will automatically follow. Once your ship can move behind a rock or debris pile, you can safely manuever back and forth until the dumb ship moves close enough to run into it.

Destroying Each Other
Many times the dumb ships are so dumb two or more try to move into the same square at the same time. When this happens all of the ships moving to that square are destroyed. It is a little tricky to try and set up this maneuver but when left to chance it will often happen without you trying it. A smart ship will never fall for this trick.

It can become a bit intimidating to have many enemy ships aimed right at your ship. If your ship becomes cornered and has nowhere to go without being destroyed, type the word empulse. The empulse is a destruction wave that will kill any ship within a one square radius of your ship. It will not kill the comet. After using empulse, you may still move your ship. Empulse can only be used one time during the game.

Gems
Fortunately, not all is against you. There are different types of gems to help along the way. Be careful when trying to collect them. Often it is best to forget about them and simply save yourself.

Gem
Effect

 Downgrades all enemies:
Smart to dumb.
 Gain one life

 Creates an empulse
  50 Point Bonus
Cloaks your ship so the enemy can not find it. Your ship can still be destroyed if it is found. Gets rid of orbs.

Tips to Win
  • Play the game slowly and plan your moves. There is no time limit for this puzzle game.
  • Remember to use the torpedoes!
  • Type empulse to destroy the ships near you.
  • Only go for the gems when you really need them.
  • Try zig-zagging your way across the board to escape the enemy.
  • Use the wormholes for a quick escape.
Escape to Kreludor has no avatar, but a score of 2,200 or more will normally earn a trophy.
