Are you tired of those goody two shoes games where honesty and fair play are the aim of the game?
Don't you just once wish you could cheat and get away with it? Well, now you can.
Cheat stands out from tame and boring games like Go! Go! Go!, Cellblock, and Pyramids, simply because in this game you are permitted to cheat! However, your opponents can cheat too, so keep an eye out in this game of Cheat or be cheated on.
The game begins with your turn. Click with the mouse to play ANY numbers of cards you like (but you won’t play five cards in a turn, right?) to the center pile. Your goal is to get rid of all the cards in your hand before your opponents get rid of theirs. The opponents only see the top card that is played and the total number of cards played.

Early in the game, when not a lot of cards have been played is a safe time to cheat. With the hand in the image above, it would not be wise to lay down four cards with the top card and claim they are 7's because someone else has a 7 and will know you are cheating. However, it may be safe to lay down the 3 and 4 and claim they are both 3's or both 4's, cheating to pretend you have just laid two 4's or two 3's. After you choose cards to play, a drop down menu appears so you can select the value you want to claim for the cards played. Unless one of the other players has multiple cards of that card value, no one will know you are cheating.

After submitting the cards to be played, the next screen shows if anyone has accused the player of cheating.

The next player can must play a top card the same, or a single digit higher or lower than the previous top card. In this case, they next top card played must be either a 3, 4 or 5.
When you suspect or are sure that your opponent is cheating, do not hesitate to click Accuse (opponent’s name) of cheating!
If they are really cheating, they get the WHOLE pile put into their hand and you’ll get some NPs.
If they are not cheating, the entire pile of cards is placed in your hand.

After one player has been accused of cheating, whether they really cheated or not, the next player can play ANY cards they wish since there is now no top card to be played on.
Often, there will be no doubt that another player is cheating. Watching your own hand and paying attention to what cards are already in the pile will help you know if they are cheating.

When a player is not accused of cheating, the cards are added to the pile. All cards played add to the sum of the cards in the pile until someone is accused of cheating and either the accuser or the cheater receives all the cards.
In order to get rid of your whole hand, you have to avoid being caught cheating and catch the opponents cheating as much as possible!
Each opponent has their own habits and patterns when playing Cheat!
 |
Capara the Kyrii
She cheats a lot, and accuses the most. Just pay attention to the LARGE number of cards she plays. |
 |
Little Timmy the Tuskaninny
He is the worst-skilled player of all; he cheats nearly all the time. He always plays large number of cards, and you can certainly earn loads of Neopoints from him. |
 |
Branston the Eyrie
He is quite good, actually. He usually plays 1~2 cards at a turn and you can seldom get hold of him cheating. But, beware, he usually cheats when he’s nearly done, say about 6~7 cards remaining, this is his weakness. |
 |
Chuffer Bob the Meerca
Not as good as Branston the Eyrie and he loves to cheat. |
 |
Brucey B
Brucey B is easy to manage. He may not cheat that often, but he really LOVES to accuse others of cheating, especially after he is caught cheating, he immediately takes revenge, so be careful about cheating after you accuse him. |
 |
Kalora the Kau
Kalora cheats quite a lot (in standards of higher levels). She tries to get rid of cards quickly. On top of that, she seldom succeeds in accusing people of cheating. |
 |
Princess Fernypoo
Rumoured to be a distant relative of Princess Gracie-Poo, she is quite like Brucey B. Fernypoo doesn’t cheat much, but she is quite skilled at catch someone with their hands in the cookie jar. Be careful of her, she’s bound to shout cheat at exactly the wrong time. |
 |
Agent 00 Hog
He is a careful player. One would even go so far as to say he is even harder than Spectre. He seldom cheats and seldom accuses people without reason. Not even a tiny mistake should ever be made around him. |
 |
Spectre
Spectre doesn’t cheat a lot. Get him when he makes obvious mistakes. Like Branston the Eyrie, he usually cheats when he has quite few cards in his hand. When he has 5~6 cards in his hand, he’ll start to play WILDLY. That’s the most opportune moment to earn NPs!! |
Scoring
Neopoints are earned both by successfully accusing someone of cheating and completing a level. The higher the level, the higher the NPs will be!

Tips to Win
Pay attention to numbers. Look at the number of cards played by an opponent (let's say three fours) and the amount of cards of the same number you have (two fours) and add them together. That means five fours, which is impossible; therefore the opponent who played three fours is cheating.
Pay attention as well to the one who accused another one. Say, you played three Kings, and Little Timmy the Tuskaninny accuses you of cheating (then gets the whole pile). Then Capara the Kyrii played two Kings. You should immediately know she’s cheating, because Little Timmy the Tuskaninny has three. It’s not easy to remember who got what card in their hand, but pay attention to large numbers.
Your opponents are USUALLY cheating when they play 4 cards. If you do not have a six, and an opponent plays four sixes, try to remember if any sixes have been played before you accuse them of cheating.
Don’t cheat to win. If you are about to win and the opponent who plays immediately before you, plays cards that are out of your range and you’ll have to cheat to win, there’s a possibility of getting caught.
In this case, you may want to accuse the opponent of cheating even if you don't think he is. It may be worth being wrong and having all the cards put in your hand. You will still be able to play whatever card you want. If it turns out you are right and he is cheating, you get a few more NPs and win the round.
