Welcome to the dungeons of the Darigan Citadel! The warden, Master Vex, his prisoners and the guards are waiting to challenge you to their favorite pastime!

In this game your goal is to connect five game pieces before your opponent does. You will face several challengers along the way.
  • Prisoner One - Clop
  • Prisoner Two - Barallus
  • Prisoner Three - Squire Meekel The price of dung in Merridell
  • Prisoner Four - The Yellow Knight
  • Prisoner Five - Number Five
  • Guard One - Galgarrath
  • Guard Two - Haskol
  • The Warden - Master Vex
The difficulty increases with each challenger. And you must win the majority of games against each challenger before you can advance to the next (2 of 3, 3 of 5, 5 of 7, and 6 of 11). Your first round with each challenger is Tournament 1 with a medal awarded after challenger 4 and a trophy after the 8th.

Each round of the tournament will cost you one quarter the amount of the payout. Maximum payout is 5000NP per day. Tournament levels and NP payout are:
  • Tournament 1:
  • Level 1: 100
  • Level 2: 200
  • Level 3: 300
  • Level 4: 400 (Medal)
  • Level 5: 500
  • Level 6: 600
  • Level 7: 700
  • Level 8: 800 (Bronze Trophy)
  • Tournament 2 - 10:

  • Level 2: 300
  • Level 3: 400
  • Level 4: 600
  • Level 5: 1000
  • Level 6: 1500
  • Level 7: 2000
  • Level 8: 3000
  • Tournament 11 and beyond:

When you start your game you will see these options at the bottom of the screen:

Winning this game is easier than you may think. Always make your first move in the same spot.

Your next move will depend on your opponents first move. If he places his game piece above yours, follow this chart for your remaining pieces:

Upper Move

If the opponent makes his first move to the right of your game piece place your pieces in this order:

Right Move

To break the monotony of repetitious games try moving your pieces opposite of the examples. Or try the following strategy:

Bored Option

Keep in mind that your opponents moves will usually follow the above charts, but there is no guarantee. He may surprise you, so keep your eyes open!

There is an avatar reward for Cellblock. Neopets says no one has been able to pinpoint the exact determination for when it is rewarded. You will probably receive it near the end of Tournament 10 or in Tournament 11.
CBAvatar
Beginning with Tournament 11, there will be no game pieces on the board to start out with. Instead there will be stones or blockers where no pieces can be played.
  • Tournament 11 - 20 6 stones
  • Tournament 21 - 30 8 stones
  • Tournament 31 - 50 12 stones
There is no sure way to win Tournaments 11 and beyond. Your best strategy will be to place 3 pieces in a row while trying to force your opponent to run into the stones.

Enjoy playing Cellblock and good luck!
