Whether it's studying ancient ruins or searching for hidden treasure, there's no challenge too great for Jake, Neopia's greatest explorer! Journey through deserted beaches, wild jungles, and fiery volcanoes, collecting gold coins, precious gems, and Mystery Island fruit on a quest to find a rare golden idol. But beware of the many traps and obstacles in your path!
Jake is an adventurer looking for hidden treasures. He needs your help to guide him through 13 treacherous levels of play while avoiding dangerous enemies. Use the left and right arrow keys to walk Jake, the space bar key to allow Jake to jump and the up and down keys to help Jake climb up and down the vines and ladders. When on a vine, use the left and right arrow keys to move between vines. When on the ladder, use the left and right keys to jump off the ladder to save time. You can also move between vines and ladders, as long as they are near one another. How to Play To complete each level, maneuver Jake around a series of deadly traps, while collecting the Mystery Island fruits, and other prizes that will enhance your score. Though you have to get the Mystery Island Fruit, each level also requires you to obtain a certain trophy (Bronze, Silver or Gold). If you do not get the trophy that is needed, you will not be able to move on to the next level. Just replay the level to gain the trophy.
Use the map, that appears between each level, to guide Jake through the island. Click on the arrow that points towards the next level you want to play.
At the end of each level, your progress will automatically be saved. Find the rare Golden Idol on the last level to beat the game and you will receive 100 bonus points. Traps Quite a few trap await Jake to try and stop his progress. If he falls victim to one of the deadly traps, Jake will instantly lose a life.
Items Collect these to complete each level and raise your score.
Level One Jump on the first ladder and climb up. Jump onto the next ladder and climb up as well. Jump over the big gap to the platform on the right. Climb the vine on the right and flip around to get the bottom coin first. Get the left coin, then the top coin and finally the right coin. Drop down for the fruit.
Level Two Jump onto the vine, climb up and get the gold statue on the right. Jump back onto the vine and go get the coins on the right. Climb back left along the vines and get the gold bars while avoiding the spikes. Climb down the ladder, get the gold statue and drop to get the fruit.
Level Three Run right and jump over the water to get the green gem. Run back left and jump the gap. Continue on and jump the left gap to get the red gem. Climb the vine above, and get the coin. Climb a bit further and drop off the vine on the right side, catching the vine further right. Get the coin on the right before climbing up and crossing the platform with the dart thrower. Grab the coin on the left then climb up the ladder. Run to the right and jump at the end to grab the vine on the right. Get the gold chest and jump to get the fruit.
Level Four Climb the vines, pass the dart blower, and drop down to the next platform. Jump onto the vine, get the coin on the left and then get the coin on the right. Climb up the vine and cross the platform to the ladder. Climb the ladder and go left to get the gold statue. Climb the vine, getting the coins along the way. Run across the platform, avoiding the rocks coming from above and get the fruit by crossing the vine.
Level Five Climb the ladder on the right to the platform directly above. Jump onto the vine closest to you gathering the coins as you climb. Get the coin on the left and drop off to grab the ladder on the left. Climb up, get the gold chest, and drop off the platform to the left. Don't grab the vine until the last moment to save a bit of time and get the fruit.
Level Six Climb the ladder and jump onto the vines on the right to avoid the spikes. If you want an extra point or two you could risk running across the platform on top of the spike holes. Get the coins to the right, then drop off the vine to land at the bottom of the ladder. Jump over the spike to the right to grab the red gem and jump back onto the ladder. Climb the ladder to the top and jump to the long vine on the left. Climb up and cross the set of vines to the right. Climb up to the platform above and climb the ladder to the platform with the dart blower. Jump across the gap on the left and collect the fruit.
Level Seven Climb the vine next to you and cross the vines to get the coins. Climb up and cross some more vines to get the red gems. Drop to the platform and grab the long vine on the right of the platform. Climb down to get the green gem then cross the vines to the left to get the coin. Drop from the left side of the 2nd vine from the left to get the fruit in the fastest route.
Level Eight Climb up the vine, cross the platform and jump to grab the vine on the left. There may be darts and boulders, so watch out. Climb up, grab the statue, cross the platform, drop down to the next platform, and grab the gold bars. Be sure to jump when getting the gold bars - there is a spike trap below it. Climb up the vine, cross the platform, climb the ladder and grab the fruit.
Level Nine Moving to the left, jump over the spike, climb up the ladder and the vine. Climb up the next ladder, making sure no boulders are headed your way. If there are stay at the top of the vine on the right side until the boulder passes. Run across the platform and drop down to the vine on the right. Drop down to the platform and grab all the coins then jump back onto the vine (you must jump from the very edge of the platform to catch the vine). Climb up and move over one vine and drop to get the green gem. Jump onto the vine on the right and move to the next vine to get the fruit.
Level Ten Start at the left. Jump onto the left vine and climb all the way to the top to get the top coin by swinging across the vines. Drop down after grabbing the coin and drop off the platform on the right side, holding left as soon as you drop to catch the vine underneath the platform. Move to the left to get the gold bars then drop down to the bottom platform to grab the red gem. Jump right from the edge of the platform you are on and catch the vine. Drop off on the right and jump on the vine on the right. Climb all the way to the top again to get the two top coins via the vines and drop to the platform in the middle. Drop off the left side of this platform to grab the green gem and drop off the left side again while holding right to land at the bottom. Finish the level by nabbing the fruit.
Level Eleven Climb up the vine on the left and drop from the 2nd last one to the platform below. Move left, jumping over the spike at the end of the platform and grabbing the vine. Climb up the set of vines to the top, taking the coin on the way, and climb up the ladder. Grab the coin and jump off the edge to land on the platform with the red gem. Move right, swinging across the vines to get the coin and drop to the platform with the gold statue. After getting the statue, drop off the platform on the right, go down the ladder and pick up the fruit.
Level Twelve Climb up the vines, grab the coin (you have to get off the vine), climb up again and pick up the gold bars by dropping off the vine at the top. Swing across the vines to the right until you grab the coin. Drop down to the platform and run right. Jump off the platform at the edge to grab the vine on the right. If you are lucky, you may miss the closest vine and grab the next one. Get the coin then the gem and drop down to get the fruit.
Level Thirteen The Final Level! Climb up the ladder and run across the platform to the right. Jump off at the end and land at the edge of the platform underneath. Jump again to grab the vine on the right and get the gold chest. Jump back onto the vine and climb up to the next platform, getting the two coins on the way. Get the green gem on the right, then go left and climb up to get the coin. Drop to the vine on the right and pick up the golden idol to get a 100 point bonus and complete the game!
