The Cyodrake's Gaze - Hoban's Map Room

Just as the Captain said, the key he gave you has granted you access to Hoban's map room. Now if only there were something helpful in here...

Map A

There are two islands on this map, and what appears to be the Cyodrake's gaze.

Map B

It looks like... a grid of some kind, though of what you're not sure.

Theory 1

Increasing the size of Map A to match Map B and overlaying them gives these results.

The options available for guessing the current location of Hoban, marked with blue dots, match the X's on Map B. Since only one X (G-14) hits dry ground, Hogan may be there, on Krawk Island.

Theory 2

Not resizing the first map and overlaying it on Map B and lining up the dotted line with the red line yields these results.

This method seems more logical than resizing the first map. However, if this is correct, Hoban most probably is swimming with the fishes an location F-19. Neither of these methods explain the red circle on Map B.

Theory 3

This is not so much a theory as it is a see what you can make of it. Again keeping the maps the same size and this time lining up the red circles, gives this result:

So, you think you know what happened to Hoban, the navigator? Why don't you make a guess here? Select when he fell off, who pushed him, where he was on the ship when he fell, and where he is now.

"That's it, then. Everyone is questioned, thanks to you, but we're still no closer to finding Hoban. Our only course of action is to settle here in Mystery Island, our original destination. Perhaps one day he will return here and we can... well, I won't get my hopes up. I cannot speak for the crew, but I am grateful for all the help you've given, despite the outcome. I have no qualms about living here on Mystery Island knowing the average Neopian would help even a stranger in need."

It seems he's finally given up, but not for lack of trying. He's searched for weeks. He's done all he can to find Hoban. There's still the question of where they came from in the first place, but it's probably best you don't ask about that right now. There'll be time for that if they're going to make a home here.

Then it hits you. Not like a ton of bricks, because you'd be dead, but it's still a pretty big epiphany... you know what happened! Even better, you know where to find Hoban. Who knew you were so smart?

"What?! This is no time for jokes, friend. You... you're serious. How do you know? Well, nevermind all that right now. If you know where he is, lets go get him!"

He rallies the crew and they prepare to set sail while you reveal Hoban's location...

At this point, you have the choice of rereading the comics, returning to the Map Room or Spill the Beans. If you choose to spill the beans, these questions must be answered.

Who pushed Hoban?
When did he fall?
Where on the ship did he fall?
Where is Hoban now?
Do you like Hoban's hat?	yes, it's very stylish

The only answer we know for certain is the Hoban has a great hat.

Once you have made your guess you are not permitted to guess again.
