A new wave of the battle begins as two new opponents joins the earlier three challengers in the one player battledome.

Important Note: Like previous plot battles, Purple Sticky Hands has been disabled.

Mutant Grundo Scouts

Starting HP
10 HP (goes up by 1 HP each time you win)
Abilities
Aura, Frost, Inertia, Psychic Attack, Scorch
Weapons
Boots of Jumping, Bracers of Fury, Exploding Pizza Pasty, Honey Goo Blaster, Red Clockwork Grundo, Space Fungus Spores, Spacial Galactic Gloves, Sonic Melter

The Mutant Grundo Scouts may be big but they are pretty easy to beat, much like the Garoo Elite Junior Squadron in Step 4. The only exception is that they love explosives and they can throw them at you in the first showdown. The Red Clockwork Grundo can do a fair bit of damage to you.

I continued using CherieLeAngel most of the time in this new phase of the battle and chose to throw Illusens Earth Potion (one use per battle), and my Honey Potion (one use per battle) at the Grundos for easy 1-round wins for about 35 times before having to go into 2-round battles with them.

Of course, Obsidian Dagger and Scarab Ring combos work pretty well too on these guys in your first few fights against these big guys. I would also suggest in terms of abilities/tactics, you should probably stick mostly to using fierce attacks or berserk attacks if you have them. For pet abilities, the first one on your list (the lowest level pet ability) may not be the best option as it does not inflict as much damage as compared to using fierce attack.

A water-based ability like Quench can be useful to lessen the impact from the explosive weapons used by the Grundos.

Virtupets Militia

Starting HP
66 HP (goes up by 6.8 HP each time you win)
Abilities
Life Drain
Weapons
Gold Handled Short Sword, Goo Blaster, H4000 Helmet, Haunted Shield, Melting Mirror, Purple Scorchstone (Heals 50, one use per battle), Red Clockwork Grundo, Virtublaster 5000

If I were to rate the difficulty of the Virtupets Militia, I would say that they are more challenging than the Strike Commanders but much easier to beat than Riilan (the last 2 are from Step 4). Like the Grundo Scouts, these guys loves explosives but they have also brought along the H4000 Helmet that can freeze you. They may bring it out as early as the first round in the battle.

Since the equipment combination of Illusens Earth Potion, Honey Potion, Makeshift Ships Hammer, Blue Scorhstone (Heals 30, one use per battle) and Creeping Shadow Hammer had worked pretty well for me with the Strike Commanders - I decided to continue using them against the Militia and it helped me to collect battle points for about 12 rounds. With the kind of stats I have on my pet, that's good enough for me.
