The Basics of the BattledomeThe Battledome - What is it? The Battledome is a place for pets to fight other pets, whether they are computers or other players that wants to fight you. You can find computer challengers around the site, through random events, visiting certain places, or through certain items. You have a few default challengers, but soon you might want a variety of challengers to fight. The Five Basic Cores of Fighting The five basic cores of fighting are strength, hit points, defense, agility, and level. Each of these will do a specific thing in battle. If you train your pets in these areas (We’ll talk about training later), their effect will be better.
Training Basics Training is what raises your pets’ stats. There are quite a few ways to train, and a few will be mentioned in this guide.
Training In-depth You go to an academy; ready to spend your dubloons or codestones when you get a message that you cannot train your pet in that area. Why not? There are certain rules and limits. 1. You cannot train a stat any higher than two times its level, not counting Hit Points, which is three times your level. For example, if your level is three and your strength is seven, you cannot train in strength until you increase your level by one. 2. You can only train a pet until a certain level at each training school. For Mystery Island it's level 250, for Pirate Academy, it’s 40. 3. You can only train at one academy at a time. Your pet can’t be in two places at once, or train in two places at once for that matter. Battles In a battle, you will see a picture of your pet, and to the right of it, a picture of your opponent. Your pets’ hit points are below the picture, followed by a scroll box with the text 'Select Ability for Name' which are the default abilities that your pet has. When your pet reaches higher levels it will receive species specific abilities.
In a fight, you and your opponent will both be able to choose two weapons and one ability. If your weapons do damage, then icons will appear above the amount of damage you make. The middle of the fight box (where it shows the damage and other things) will have text saying what happened. If your weapons block some damage from your opponent, then icons will be crossed out. If your opponent heals, the damage will be taken from the amount of HP he or she recovers. When you or your opponents HP reach zero, the fight is over. If you both deplete your HP to zero on the same turn, then it’s a tie. You can also shout messages to your opponent, but it doesn’t do anything in one-player fights. In two-player fights however, your friend will receive the message. Overall, if you train hard, have patience, and are able to easily understand how to battle, you will soon be on your way to being one of the best battlers out there.
